There’s new information regarding a new DLC character coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ, Janemba, regarding a now-deleted Nintendo UK post that detailed what’s going to go with the character when he releases.
We may have gotten a glimpse at one of the new DLC characters coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ. Fans are going to recognize this purple and red character, Janemba, as one of the villains from the Dragon Ball Z movie called Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn.
The information comes from GameInformer, who received their information from Siliconera regarding a now-deleted Nintendo UK post that detailed adding Janemba to the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster. The Nintendo post broke down how Janemba was going to receive five alternative outfit colors for the game, a lobby avatar, and a new Z stamp for players to post in the game’s chatrooms.
Those unfamiliar with the character, Janemba is a mutated supernatural being who was born due to negligence. His previous, much larger golden form was child-like and innocent, despite Goku fighting him. When Goku punches him too hard, he collapses and becomes the purple and scarlet character, pictured above. Due to his increase in power, Goku and Vegeta have to work together, using the fusion dance to become Gogeta, the alternative fusion form the two create. Vegito is the fusion between Goku and Vegeta when they use the Portuga earrings.
A notable technique Janemba is capable of using is breaking down his molecules and teleporting extremely quickly from place to place. It’s similar to Goku’s instant transmission technique, except he doesn’t have to touch his fingers to his forehead. The teleportation technique looks like Janemba is disintegrating in place and recreating himself in an alternative location. Hopefully, we see several combos and abilities that nod to Janemba’s unique move set from the movie.
Other than this information, we have extremely little to go on regarding the addition of the character. At this time, the information does not have an official announcement, so we’ll have to wait until we hear something from the developers. If anything, it’s likely we’re going to hear confirmation about the character during this year’s Evo 2019 tournament, which takes place from Aug. 2 to the 4.
