Sephiroth, one of Final Fantasy’s most memorable villains, has come to the mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius in addition to a series of new Final Fantasy-centric events, quests, and other goodies. The entire month of May is dedicated to bringing Final Fantasy-related content to the mobile title, so if you left for a while looking for greener pastures, it might be time to come back.

There’s a new trailer showing off Sephiroth’s entrance into Brave Exvius, which you can see below. He’ll join characters Shylt, lila, and Mim in the new Step-Up Banner, which means each “step” (summon) you perform with this particular character banner will net you a ton of special rewards like Summon Tickets, 5-star base units, and Trust Moogles. If you complete all the banner’s steps, you’ll be guaranteed one of the promotional 5-star base characters for this Final Fantasy VII event. This includes Sephiroth himself.

Starting May 18, there will also be a special new Final Fantasy VII themed quest where players can travel to Mt. Nibel to take out the malevolent Materia Keeper, a popular boss battle that fans will likely remember. In addition to racking up daily bonuses, there’ll also be special bundles added to the game featuring special characters including Sephiroth, as well as special in-game campaigns running alongside this particular event.

There are tons of familiar Final Fantasy characters you can recruit as you spend more time in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, but keep in mind that it’s very much a free-to-play game. If you don’t want to grin for things or wait a long time for them, you’ll have to pay some cash. If that’s not your thing, you may just want to go back and replay Final Fantasy VII instead.
