Server downtime has begun for Fortnite‘s 3.4 update.
The main highlight of the new update is the brand new Guided Missile weapon, which will come in the Epic and Legendary rarities. Players can take control of the missile once it’s fired, giving them the missile’s point of view and making them lose control of their character.
You can disconnect from the missile at any time, and the missile will continue on whatever trajectory it was on. It moves slightly slower than a regular rocket, but it does the same damage—105 for Epic and 110 for Legendary.
A slight adjustment has been made to shotguns to “more closely represent their effectiveness.” The Tactical Shotgun will now be available in the Common, Uncommon, and Rare rarities, and the Pump Shotgun will be found as Uncommon and Rare. Nothing else about the shotguns, including their weapon damage and drop chances, has been changed.
Other small tweaks include a 25 percent increase in Launch Pad droprate, a fix for a Boogie Bomb bug that previously led the item to be disabled, the ability to zoom in and out on the map, and the grenade launcher has been changed to an egg launcher as a seasonal cosmetic change.
This update also sees the return of the Sniper Shootout mode in its 2.0 variation. Changes to the mode include the additions of the Hunting Rifle and Crossbow, the removal of the Revolver, and the disabling of the “downed but not out” state. When someone is downed, they will be immediately eliminated.
Once today’s server downtime is complete, all of the new content will be available to play in Fortnite: Battle Royale, including a new set of weekly challenges.
