Ubisoft has just revealed details, and gameplay, about their upcoming Ghost Recon Breakpoint, the next installment in the Ghost Recon series. Much like Wildlands, it will take place in an open world, and feature cooperative gameplay with you and your friends. The action takes place on Aurora, an island owned and operated by Skel Technology, a drone manufacturing company that recently went dark.

The engineered island will feature a diverse set of biomes and settings in which to fight. The constant in the game will be the enemies that patrol it, trying to track you down. The take the form of both human enemies, and drones, and combat looks fierce. It is possible to be injured, and for that injury to affect how you play, as shots to the arm can affect your enemy, leg wounds can slow you down, etc. It is a war of attrition between you and your enemies, and without a safe place to rest up and get ready for the next mission, it is a war you will lose.

This is were the bivouacs come in. Bivouacs are improvised shelters that you can set up, then use them to heal up, reconfigure your character class and gear, and even check the weather. It will all help you to prepare for your next mission and fight your enemies on your own terms. You will also be able to skip time at the bivouac, giving you the option to take on your next mission during the day, or at nighttime if you prefer. Eventually, you will be able to set up a network of bivouacs that will give you places you can retreat to after each mission is complete.

It sounds like they will offer you some much need respite on an island where everything wants you dead. The game is due to release on October 4, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
