We’re only a few hours away from the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer reveal, and as we get closer and closer, we learn more details about the fundamental changes that are being implemented in this new chapter by Infinity Ward.
As shared on Reddit, the game will feature a compass instead of a mini-map, and while we wait to learn more about the reasons why the development team behind the game has done such a change, we have the opportunity to look at how this works.
In multiplayer, you can’t see your teammates through the walls, and the same team indicator will pop up on your friends’ heads only when you look at them on the screen. So it should have a very realistic vibe when you’re on the field.
On the compass, you’ll have the opportunity to see a red dot indicating where they are, but then it’ll be up to you to find where they exactly are traveling across the map. Also, the mini-map will still be deployed just in case you get a UAV killstreak reward or something in that vein.
The change has been much debated, as shared by MP1ST, but it’s worth noting that the Redditor who has provided such details has said that throughout his early gameplay he has not missed the mini-map at all, so it looks like the dev team has been able to implement a rather good system in its stead.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer reveal is dropping at 10 AM PT on August 1, 2019, so we hope more details on this get our way very soon. For a first look, head over here.
