Bandai Namco has revealed a lot about the upcoming anime fighting game Jump Force at this year’s Gamescom.
Alongside the reveal of six new characters, Bandai has also confirmed to The OP during a media presentation at the event that Jump Force will feature customization characters.
These characters will interact with the main story and will be a part of squads based around the flagship manga of Weekly Shōnen Jump: One Piece, Dragon Ball, and Naruto. Which squad the character is placed in is up to the player.
Alongside the announcement, Bandai has also confirmed that the game will have an online lobby, similar to the one in Dragon Ball Xenoverse and Xenoverse 2. The lobbies will be free to roam and meet other characters online while selecting modes.
Alongside the main hub, characters will also be able to visit three other online hubs based around the three main franchises. While part of the Gamescom presentation, we did not get a chance to try them out at the show.

Jump Force was a surprise reveal at Microsoft’s E3 press conference in June. The game contains some of Shonen Jump’s most popular characters fighting it out on one of two sides, in a semi-realistic, or at least grittier, style that we’re not accustomed to.
The game is expected to release sometime in 2019
