Final Fantasy VI’s heroic thief Locke Cole is joining the cast of playable characters in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT.

Revealed during a special livestream where Square Enix announced his game debut, he’s the latest character from Final Fantasy VI to join the fighting title.

Locke is an integral character in Final Fantasy VI, a kind treasure hunter who ends up rescuing protagonist Terra from the Narshe Mines. He’s a thief who’d rather be called a “treasure hunter,” and rocks a seriously awesome original design by Yoshitaka Amano. This gorgeous outfit is his default skin, which looks absolutely gorgeous in the Dissidia engine.

Locke will be an Assassin type fighter who can use stealth in battle to take his enemies from surprise, mug them, and use said stolen items to turn the tides of victory. It looks like he’s going to make for a pretty interesting addition to the roster, as Locke joins Terra Branford and Kefka Palazzo to make for an awesome Final Fantasy VI trifecta. This brings the total character count up to 29, with more DLC fighters on the way.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is the latest console iteration of the popular Final Fantasy-themed fighting franchise, with several different layers of strategy and unique mechanics you must learn before you can excel at the game. You’ll choose teams of your favorite characters to brawl in open areas as you battle for supremacy, but it’s far more than just button-mashing. It’s a super-fan’s dream, with most major characters from throughout Final Fantasy history being represented.

If you haven’t tried it out yet, you’ll definitely want to give it a spin when Locke makes his debut—though there isn’t a set date for that just yet.
