It’s time to hit the bad guys with Embiggen!
The cast of Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers managed to grow by one today, as the publisher presented a new trailer featuring Kamala Khan, also known as Ms. Marvel, being added to the game.
Eagle-eyed viewers may remember that she was first featured in the debut gameplay trailer that came out during Gamescom, though she was only shown for a second. But with this new trailer, seen below, she plays a much more focused role.
She stumbles across some proof that AIM, the company that has taken over following the disbanding of the Avengers, is up to no good. She manages to download something off their website but soon finds herself fending off enemy forces while trying to keep it safe.
This leads her to Bruce Banner, the Incredible Hulk. She explains that she needs help in getting the Avengers back together, after learning that they were set up. He takes her to meet up with Tony Stark, or Iron Man, to try and convince him. He doesn’t seem too into it at first until she presents him with unseen “proof.”
The trailer does feature some gameplay footage, in which Ms. Marvel manages to “Embiggen!” to extend the size of her fists to hurt enemies. She can also use them to get around in platforming segments, akin to Crystal Dynamics’ Tomb Raider games.
Ms. Marvel looks to be a great addition to the series, but the real question is…when will we see more? We know Ant-Man is on the way. Maybe before the year’s end?
Marvel’s Avengers will assemble on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on May 15, 2020.
