Actor Keegan Allen, who played Toby Cavanaugh on Pretty Little Liars, was robbed outside a West Hollywood grocery store on Thursday, October 8, when two armed men stole his watch and struck him with a handgun, according to Fox News. L.A. County sheriff’s deputies were called to a reported robbery on Santa Monica Boulevard at about 9:05 p.m.
It happened outside Laurel Supply, a grocery store and eatery, ABC7 reports. The sheriff’s department said Allen was approached by two men wearing black. One held a silver handgun and the other held a knife, and they demanded his bracelet as well as the watch.
The handgun was then used to hit him in the face, and the pair left with the watch in a vehicle the department described as unknown. It said Allen had a cut on his forehead. Firefighters from the county fire department evaluated the actor at the scene, and he did not go to a hospital from the scene. The department said the suspects obtained the watch.
Allen shared video while deputies search for two men
Late Thursday night, Allen shared a video to Instagram that shows blood covering his face and clothes, along with surveillance footage that appears to show the confrontation outside the store. In that footage, one of the men can be seen hitting him in the head several times with the gun. He wrote “West Hollywood is not safe anymore,” urged that the area’s flock cameras be used to find the suspects, and in the video he said he was “just robbed of my watch outside of Laurel Supply.”
Allen described the attackers as two young men. He said they “hit me in the head and pointed a gun at me with a knife,” Gray News reports, and that they said they would kill him over the watch. He says it was a Rolex. The sheriff’s department is leading the investigation, and its Major Crimes Division is handling the case, NBC reports. West Hollywood is its own city. It said the sheriff’s department is actively investigating and that additional patrols by deputies and the city’s security ambassadors will be added.
As of Friday, October 9, no arrests had been reported, and the two men had not been publicly identified. No suspect names have been released, and the investigation is ongoing. Detailed descriptions of them were not available beyond their dark clothing and masks. Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at the sheriff’s West Hollywood Station.
Allen, 37, played Toby Cavanaugh on the Freeform series between 2010 and 2017. He then starred as Liam Walker on Walker from 2021 to 2024 and appeared on The Rookie in 2026.
