Almost out of nowhere, Blizzard has announced it has multiple Diablo projects in the works, which means a new game in the main series is currently in development and there’s even something more.
Community manager Brandy Camel explained, in a video which focused at least at the beginning on the team seasons, that the developer is working hard on “multiple Diablo projects,” and that official reveals could come “later this year.”
“The forges here at Blizzard are burning hot, and we have multiple Diablo projects in the works,” she said. “Some of them are going to take longer than others, but we may have some things to show you later this year.”
As above, one is expected to be Diablo 4 and that’s probably the one which is going to take longer, since it is going to be presented as a main entry in the franchise.
It’ll depend on the amount of stuff we get revealed this year, but it could drop between the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020, or at least this is our perception of it now.
On top of that, there’s always that Diablo III Nintendo Switch port which has been hinted several times and was given as almost official in quite reliable rumors few months ago. That would be the shortest term reveal.
BlizzCon is coming this November, so it won’t take that much before we learn all the official details on the matter.
