The Nintendo Direct event for March 8, 2018 revealed several new releases for the Nintendo Switch for 2018 and beyond. Nintendo saved a big surprise for the very end as well. Let’s have a look at some of the most interesting titles that were announced.

Headlining the Nintendo Switch portion of the Nintendo Direct announcements is Mario Tennis Aces. Play as your favorite Mushroom Kingdom characters all while using simple motion controls. You can play with up to four players locally or online. No VirtualBoy headset is required for this version of Mario Tennis.

Dark Souls: Remastered

If you ever wanted to play a game that is unforgiving to the player, Dark Souls is it. Delve into an epic dark fantasy universe stricken by the Curse. You will have several different surprises, as each play through of the game is different. Enjoy up to a six-player multiplayer with dedicated servers, but be wary of other player’s motives. Dark Souls: Remastered, and the DLC included with the game releases May 25, 2018.

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition

Get ready to hack and slash your way in Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition. Originally released for the Nintendo Wii U and ported to the 3DS, join Link and others as you fight your way through Hyrule to once again defeat Ganondorf. Enjoy playing as all 29 characters from the Wii U and 3DS versions and wear new outfits for Link and Zelda based on Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Hyrule Definitive Edition releases on May 18, 2018.

Super Smash Bros.

It wouldn’t be a Nintendo console without having Super Smash Bros available to play on it. Making its debut on the Switch is this hugely popular fighting series. While no information is available as to who you can play as, I think it’s safe to say that fan favorites will be returning. One thing we do know is that it has a release date sometime in 2018. Hopefully we will get more information during the Nintendo E3 press conference this year.

While these are only a portion of the games that Nintendo talked about during Nintendo Direct, you can get information on all of them over at the Nintendo Direct site. You can also keep tabs on every new game coming out via our video game release date 2018 page.
