Curious and/or lapsed Switch owners who don’t currently subscribe to the Nintendo Switch Online service now have another chance to try out the platform. Nintendo is currently offering a one-week trial for free, with no commitment necessary.

Interested players can head over to Nintendo’s website to redeem the trial. All you need to do is sign in to your existing My Nintendo account, or create a new one if this is your first time registering. The offer is only for those who do not currently subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online, but if you have used a free trial in the past, don’t worry — you won’t be excluded from this free trial.

Nintendo Switch Online comes with several benefits. In addition to accessing online multiplayer for games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Splatoon 2, memberships include cloud-based libraries full of NES and SNES games. The retro collection also allows you to play with your friends while online.

Speaking of the cloud, a Switch Online membership enables backup of your save data, so you won’t have to worry about losing everything you have built in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Redeeming this trial will sign you up for a week, and if you don’t cancel, your account will automatically subscribe to a one-year membership for $19.99. Individual options are also available at $3.99 per month, or a three-month subscription for $7.99. A yearly family membership for $34.99 allows up to eight Nintendo Account holders to access one paid account.
