Nintendo has finally revealed details on its Nintendo Switch online subscription service less than a week before the service goes live.

On Sept. 18, Nintendo Switch owners will need to start paying a monthly or yearly fee in order to play all Nintendo Switch games online. The service will cost $3.99 a month or $19.99 for a year, making it the cheapest online subscription cost of the three home consoles.

There is also a family membership option available for those who own multiple Nintendo accounts. For a price of $34.99, up to eight Nintendo accounts can gain access to Nintendo online for a year, even on different systems.

Those who are hesitant to sign up for the service can opt for a seven day trial period, which launches same day on Sept. 18.

More information on the live service is expected to be one of the main talking points of the Nintendo Direct which goes live tomorrow. The Direct will be 35 minutes long and will show off a selection of upcoming Nintendo Switch and 3DS titles. It was originally going to air last week but was delayed following a deadly earthquake in Hokkaido. Some of the games that were expected to be announced during that Direct, like Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, have leaked since.
