Although previously scheduled to release in less than a month, People Can Fly’s third-person shooter, Outriders, has been pushed back to April 1, 2021. The news comes via the game’s Twitter account, which also explains that a demo will be released in its place in February.
In the social media post, the Outriders development team reasons the delay is needed for “fine tuning the game and focusing on delivering a fantastic play experience.” However, players can partake in a chunk of the game sooner, with its demo, scheduled for February 25, said to feature “the first few hours of the game with all four classes.”
This marks the second time Outriders has seen a change in release date, as it was originally slated for October 2020. Revealed at E3 2019, the Square Enix published title has been introduced as a sci-fi looter shooter with various RPG elements. Before the project, developer People Can Fly last worked on the Nintendo Switch port for Bulletstorm: Full Clip and aided Epic Games in the creation of Fortnite’s Save the World mode.
When it does arrive in April, Outriders will be available on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC, and Stadia.
