In an interview with Major Nelson, Xbox head Phil Spencer said Microsoft is going to have a huge E3 2019 later this year.
That’s not unexpected, based on next-gen rumors and the fact that Sony has already announced it’ll be skipping the event.
“There was obviously some news about E3 back in the Fall, and we had a discussion internally of ‘should we go big? Should we save some money?’” said Spencer.
“You know… what does that mean? We just said ‘No, we are going to do our thing.’
We’re going to go and be as big at E3 as we’ve ever been. I love that opportunity to be with our fans and the industry.”
When asking “should we save some money?,” it looks clear the Xbox head is hinting at PlayStation not doing a showcase to perhaps focus on PSX in December.
It’ll be interesting to see how Microsoft can put this advantage to good use, maybe teasing Xbox Scarlett and going big with the first games from the newest Studios.
