Platinum Games has a lot on its plate as of now, with Astral Chain releasing on Nintendo Switch in August, Babylon’s Fall for Square Enix on PC and PS4, and Bayonetta 3.

Anyway, it still looks it is working on something else, as shared during a recent interview with VGC by studio head Atsushi Inaba.

“Right now we’re in the middle of designing something that has never been done before. I know a lot of people say that, but the game we’re working on truly is unlike anything else,” he mentioned throughout the interview.

“Even for our varied history of veteran game developers, this is something that has never been designed before. So from a game design perspective, we’re very excited right now.”

That’s quite a bold statement from such an experienced developer since many of the guys at the studio have a lot of released games on their backs so innovating is not always the easiest thing.

With that said, this is precisely what is going to happen with the next title from the makers of Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, even though we still know nothing about what this game will look like.

It could take a while before we learn the specifics of the title and what are the things that make it look so new, so don’t hold your breath and hope to see more Bayonetta 3 this year, instead.
