PS4 System Software Beta Test application has started updated first on PlayStation Japan blog, no info on other regions.
Recently PlayStation Blog Staff shared the opportunity for Beta Test Participants on JP.PlayStation.com. According to the updated blog, you can sign-up for PS4 System Software Beta Test. This will allow you to get the first-hand experience of latest features before it gets a public release. The blog has a link to application page where you can fill up the details and sign-up to test out new features.
Once your application is approved as a Beta tester you will get a chance to try out fresh functions first. During the test period, you can check out new features of upcoming system software. There are possible chances that the system software might not be up-to-the-mark, so there can be bugs and errors, which will be resolved and a fixed firmware will be provided to everyone.
The current Beta Test period starts on January 15, 2018, according to the blog and it will end on January 23, 2018. Below are the eligible applicant requirements.
- People who have a Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) account (master account)
- People who have PS4 main unit capable of network connection
- People who are participating in PlayStation Plus or PlayStation Now at the time of entry
- Those over the age of 18.
As the application has started on a Japanese blog, currently there is no info whether the same will be provided for other regions also. If you are application is approved you will receive an email notification.
