With November just a couple of days away, we figured that the free games for Sony’s PlayStation Plus games would be announced rather soon. And now, we know what they are.
Sony revealed the games in a new blog post today, and one will be quite relevant for those awaiting the return of the Nioh franchise from Koei Tecmo.
That’s because the original Nioh is the first of two games being offered free of charge for PlayStation Plus members.
“Nioh is a visceral, action-driven adventure where you must hone your skills, upgrade your weapons, and demonstrate perseverance and mastery in besting some of ancient Japan’s fiercest demons. Travel to the blood-soaked Sengoku period and take on the role of an embattled outsider as you fight to liberate a guardian spirit from the clutches of a power-hungry sorcerer,” the company notes in its description.
Yes, the game is tough as nails. But it’s also quite exciting and beautifully designed. And it’ll get you in the right frame of mind for the sequel set to arrive in March 2020.
Then there’s Outlast 2, the second of the free PlayStation Plus titles. The timing is a little off, as this would have been a perfect game for Halloween. But the scares remain, so fans won’t want to miss it.
“Immerse yourself in a desperate fight for survival in an isolated rural community as you attempt to rescue your kidnapped wife from the clutches of a deranged cult. Having narrowly escaped death in a helicopter crash, set out into the rundown village of Temple Gate and do your best to avoid its crazed inhabitants as you fight to locate your partner,” the game’s description reads.
Both games will be available this Tuesday, Nov. 5. In the meantime, you’ve still got a few days to download The Last of Us Remastered and MLB the Show 19 if you haven’t already!
