Merchandise Leaks for Pokémon has suggested remakes for Diamond and Pearl may be on their way.

Earlier today, there was a leaked promotional image of an upcoming Pokémon anime. The leaked comes not too long after Ash winning his first Pokémon League Championship. Though surprisingly, that wouldn’t be the only possible leak for Pokémon today.

Paul Ryan, the owner of Pokéshopper, shared some more leaked information indicating new Pokémon merchandise based on the Sinnoh region is on its way. Sinnoh is the region where the fourth generation of Pokémon games took place, specifically Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. There’s been hope for a remake for those games since the release of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, which were remakes of the third generations of Pokémon games.

The merchandise leak shows there will be re-releases of products based on Arceus, Dialga, Palkia, and Darkrai. All four of those Pokémon are Legendary/Mythical from the Sinnoh region; usually the re-releases of Legendary Pokémon isn’t anything newsworthy. Legendaries are often the most popular Pokémon in the franchise, so products based on them are regularly being restocked and reissued.

However, what makes the leak interesting, and it is something that Ryan points out in his YouTube video that Pachirisu is also getting new merchandise. Pachirisu is an electric squirrel Pokémon from Sinnoh, and it is similar in appearance to Pikachu and other electric-rodent based Pokémon. It is certainly not the most mysterious Pokémon from the fourth generation, but it is also not the most in-demand Pokémon either.

Most of this is speculation. However, merchandises listing based on Pokémon from the fourth generation has shown up, it appears that marketers are planning to promote the fourth generation in a big way. The Pokémon franchise may want to build up hype for a potential Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remake. The Pokémon Company has done this before when they released the other remakes like Omega Ruby and Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee.

Paul Ryan seems to believe the merchandise listing is leading into the remakes. Most of the merchandise listings are for December 2019 or 2020.

If this all does end up leading to a Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Remake for the end of 2020, then November will be a likely release month.
