Earlier today, Pokémon released their June Direct, revealing new information on the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield game. They introduced new mechanics, new characters, and, most importantly, new characters.

While Wooloo appears to be winning fans’ hearts throughout the internet, don’t forget that Gossifleur and Eldegoss who also appeared during today’s Direct. They are the two new grass type Pokémon for generation eight, and they both could potentially are going to have the new Cotton Down ability.

The Cotton Down ability, as described on Serebii, lowers the speed of a Pokémon that attacks Gossifleur and Eldegoss. So far, they are the only Pokémon that are capable of having this ability.

There’s not too much information regarding the Cotton Down ability. We do know it’ll be used to protect its wielder, potentially hinting at Pokemon having passive talents to defend themselves in combat better.

Pokémon Sword and Shield are expected to release worldwide on November 15, 2019.
