Sirfetch’d is a Pokemon Sword exclusive confirmed from a new video posted to the Official Pokemon Youtube channel. Farfetch’d that inhabit the Galar region will be able to evolve into Sirfetch’d, once they get enough experience points.

Sirfetch’d is a Fighting-type who appears to be on a one duck mission to make the other Pokemon eat their vegetables. The Pokemon Pokedex entry has this to say about Sirfetch’d: “Only Farfetch’d that have survived many battles can attain this evolution. When this Pokémon’s leek withers, it will retire from combat.” How exactly you evolve a Farfetch’d into a Sirfetch’d remains a mystery.

Sirfetch’d will be able to do the new Meteor Assault move. Only Sirfetch’d can learn it. According to the official Pokemon Website, “Sirfetch’d points its leek at the opponent and charges toward them at great speed. This move is devastatingly powerful! However, it appears that the move also puts great strain on Sirfetch’d. It will be unable to take action immediately after using this move.”

The new Pokemon also goes into battle armed with a shield made out of leaves and a giant leek as a lance. So that is something to consider next time you feel you lack the tools to get a job done. Because Sirfetch’d is a Pokemon Sword exclusive, you can put a safe bet on a new exclusive Pokemon for Pokemon Shield getting revealed pretty soon.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are set to release for the Nintendo Switch on Nov. 15.
