The popular racing multiplayer game, SpeedRunners, is heading to the Nintendo Switch.

SpeedRunners is a side-scrolling racing game, where up to four players can race among each other. Each player can choose to play as one of several wacky characters. In the game, the runners have to outrun the edges of the screen; if they get too far behind and are no longer visible on the screen, then they automatically lose. When runners get eliminated, a red border starts forming at the edges of the screen. Touching the red border eliminates a runner, and the red border will get tighter and tighter until only one runner is left.

The game was originally released on Steam as an early access game in 2013, before being released as a full game in 2016. The game has been ported to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The game became popular due to the simplicity of the gameplay; you need to run away from the end of the screen and avoid obstacles. SpeedRunners quickly became a fan-favorite with gamers who enjoy on-couch multiplayer.

There was a reasonable amount of demand from fans that SpeedRunners should be on the Nintendo Switch, even though the game was never released on the Wii U. Eventually the publishers of the game, tinyBuild, revealed on Twitter that the game will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch. No official release date has been given at this moment, though this is without a doubt exciting times for fans of SpeedRunners. Fans can now play the game on the go.
