Sony introduced a new update for PS4 and the beta edition is now available for download in some countries like Poland according to a news published by WCCFTech. There is also a screenshot shared that share some details on the beta update. The new beta firmware is not rolled out in all regions, according to the screenshot there can be some minor issues related to game fps.
Below is the extract from the news that is a translation of the non-English screenshot of update info on PS4 console. The only issue mentioned is the reducing frame rates in some games only. The update will add the new supersampling solution.
PS4 Firmware Update 5.50 Beta Details:
Supersampling mode allows you to get picture quality comparable with 4K even when connecting PS4 Pro to a TV with a resolution of 2K or below. The effect depends on the game – not every improvement will be noticeable. In some games, you can also reduce the frame rate per second.
The firmware will also a few features like you can delete notification as you receive from the dashboard, users can also hide purchased games in the library and there won’t be beta or demo notification once you had bought the game. You can also turn on notification for available friends through a shortcut. There will be a dedicated option to get super sampling down to 1080 for every game that is running on a higher resolution on PS4 Pro. The firmware also adds features that will let users to create Teams on the console for social activities. Below are some screenshots.
Sony has not revealed any info about the update deployment in other regions as well, but there are chances that it will be scheduled soon. The benefit of the update will let players take benefit from the console Super Sampling solution where many games that does not has the feature can deliver better resolution.
