After yesterday’s unexpected trailer leak and then official announcement trailer debut, hype for Rage 2 is well and truly underway.

The live-action teaser yesterday set the stage for the world of mayhem unleashed in today’s gameplay reveal trailer. It’s safe to say this is a far more intriguing world than the one we explored back in 2011.

It looks to be set in the same post-apocalyptic future as the original game, which followed a soldier named Nicholas Raine who emerged from an underground shelter into the nuclear wasteland a century later as a wanted man. The trailer references “the asteroid,” which is likely the very same 99942 Apophis catastrophe that happened in the previous game as well.

This time you’ll play as the last Ranger named Walker, who’s heading out for revenge on a faction known as The Authority, who took everything he knew and loved. You’ll do this by shooting guys out of cannons and then blowing them apart with shotguns, engaging in vehicular combat, and doing a bunch of other cool-looking stuff to the tune of Andrew W.K., who provides the soundtrack for the trailer.

Though the trailer promises huge guns, there’s also some elemental offensive powers called Nanotrite that you can put to use, as well as a varied amount of vehicles to use in combat situations like gyrocopters and monster trucks.

Rage 2 is scheduled for a Spring 2019 release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. You’ll see more of it, however, during Bethesda’s E3 showcase on June 10 at 6:30 PM PT.
