Hi-Rez Studios’ fantasy battle royale title Realm Royale is getting another shot as it makes its way to the PlayStation 4. A closed beta begins on the console next week. If you’re interested in playing, you’ll need to sign up for the beta at the official Realm Royale website, then wait for an invite.
For early access to the beta, you can visit the official PlayStation Blog.
The free-to-play game, which began life as a spin-off of the shooter Paladins, first released as part of Steam’s Early Access program back in June. Realm Royale lends a high-fantasy twist to games like PUBG and Fortnite, with magical spells and colorful chickens.
While it enjoyed a brief boom after its debut, peaking at over 100,000 simultaneous players, it plummeted just a month after launch. Concurrent players barely manage to top out over 20,000 on average, and it’s racked up a ridiculous amount of negative reviews on Steam. Hi-Rez Studios’ are likely looking to bounce back with a console debut.
