A Red Dead Redemption 2 pre-order will give players a multitude of in-game items, as well $500,000 in GTA V’s online mode.
Players will also receive a mount called “war horse,” which will likely be made available in Red Dead Redemption 2’s multiplayer mode. Named after the best mount in the original Red Dead Redemption, odds are that it will be a similarly strong four-legged friend available to players far earlier on in the game.
There will also be three separate editions of the game released: a base-level pre-order pack featuring the game for $59, a special edition valued at $79, and an ultimate edition carrying physical props for $99.
Aside from the news that Red Dead Redemption 2 will feature a multiplayer mode, there isn’t a whole lot of information surrounding the hotly anticipated title. The addition of the multiplayer mode is, presumably, based off of the tremendous success of the GTA V Online mode.
Take-Two Interactive, the publisher of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 said that GTA V had sold a total of 90 million units since its release in 2013. During its quarterly investors call on Feb. 8, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick credited GTA V’s online mode as the key to the game’s longevity, and that it has influenced the development of Red Dead Redemption 2.
“I think the success of [Red Dead Redemption 2], which is highly anticipated, will be driven by its quality, and I think that the ongoing success of Grand Theft Auto Online is driven by its extraordinary quality,” Zelnick said during the call.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is slated to be released on Oct. 26.
