The official Red Dead Redemption 2 companion app will be available for iOS and Android on Red Dead Redemption 2’s launch day.
Rockstar Games is getting ready to open the floodgates to the thousands of gamers eagerly awaiting the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 this Friday, October 26. In addition to arguably the most anticipated game release of the year, Rockstar is also preparing the launch of an official Red Dead Redemption 2 companion app for iOS and Android devices. The release of the app will be aligned with the release of the game.
According to the official release, the Red Dead Redemption 2 companion app connects directly with your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One as you play, delivering real-time interactive information to your smart device. Players can pan and zoom the map, set waypoints or mark areas of interest with a tap on the screen, aiding their exploration and discovery throughout the expansive world of Red Dead Redemption 2.
The app will also double as a digital manual and optionally include a copy of the official guide to Red Dead Redemption 2 by Piggyback. Presumably, this will be available as an in-app purchase.
Perhaps most intriguing, the app will also show you Arthur Morgan’s core info and stats in real-time on your device, allowing you to completely remove the in-game HUD from your TV. Given how cinematic and beautiful Red Dead Redemption 2 is stacking up to be, a HUD-less experience may be very appealing.
Keep an eye on your local iOS App Store or Android Google Play store for the release of the official Red Dead Redemption 2 companion app on October 26, 2018.
