The patch doesn’t feature any performance improvements on PC. It focuses on crashes occurring in “random” when playing both the single-player and Red Dead Online modes, mainly due to the game supporting both Vulkan and DirectX 12 API and allowing users to switch between them instantly.

Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC had a troubled launch, which lead the development team to share an apology for all the unexpected issues occurring upon day one. Error screens welcomed players during the debut week of the game and prevented them from even starting the game and patches proved ineffective for several days.
With a steady roadmap for patches and updates, with the previous update only coming six days ago, Rockstar Games has managed to fix at least the most common issues.
