In what’s become a beloved yearly tradition, major news about an upcoming Ubisoft game has leaked just days before the start of E3. According to a product page on Amazon UK, the next installment in the Watch Dogs series is titled Watch Dogs Legion and will let you take control of any NPC in the game rather than playing as a single character.
There’s not much to go on from the listing, which features just a few lines about the game’s setting and overall concept:
Play as anyone, Every individual you meet in the open world, has a full set of animations, voice over, character traits and visuals that are generated & guided by gameplay systems
If the leak is to believe, the game will be set in London after Brexit.
Watch_Dogs Legion is set in a near-future, dystopian version of London. It’s a post-Brexit world in which society, politics and technology have changed and altered London’s fortunes. London is one of the most iconic cities in the world and has had a massive influence on all of Western Culture for centuries… London makes total sense for WD, as the city has one of the highest surveillce [sic] levels in the world making this the perfect playground.
Perhaps the most fantastical thing about that idea is that Brexit will actually be settled in the “near future.”
It’s always wise to be skeptical of leaks, but this one appears to be legitimate. It was widely shared by Twitter user Wario64, who has a history of legitimate leaks and confirmed by Jason Schreier of Kotaku.
