Sonic Mania Adventures: Part 2 Is Here and It Stars Tails

Sonic the Hedgehog’s best friend Miles “Tails” Prower features in Sonic Mania Adventures’ latest episode. Meanwhile, Knuckles will feature in Part 3.

Sonic Mania Adventures has a second episode out today, and Part 2 features Miles “Tails” Prower teaming up with his best friend Sonic the Hedgehog.

In this month’s episode, Sonic meets up with Tails after learning about Dr. Eggman’s latest scheme to capture the Chaos Emeralds. Alongside Tails, Sonic’s iconic plane, the Tornado, appears as well, which was first introduced to the series along with Tails in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Check out the full episode below.

Sonic Mania Adventures was first revealed at SXSW 2018 with a teaser trailer showcasing the series. The cartoon series is inspired by Sonic Mania’s intro animation and hearkens back to the classic Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons from the 1990s. The series is set to have five shorts in total, all available for free on YouTube. Each episode is launched monthly and serves as a promotion for Sonic Mania Plus, the upcoming Sonic Mania rerelease set to launch in July.

Sonic Mania Adventures takes place shortly after Sonic Forces and features Classic Sonic as the main character. Part 1 launched in late March, and its third episode will feature Knuckles when it lands in late May.

Meanwhile, Sega’s classic gaming series Sega Ages is coming to Nintendo Switch, and the series’ producer is interested in bringing classic Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast games over to the console if the classic gaming line proves popular with consumers. The Sega Genesis’ Sonic the Hedgehog is already set to come to the Nintendo Switch through the series, along with such classic games as Phantasy Star and Alex Kidd.
