The Game Awards 2019 is revealing news about the incoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie, according to the details shared by the producer and host Geoff Keighley in a livestream.
Keighley has entertained his fans with a livestream on pscp.tv around twelve years ago, and during the last minutes of the video (at 12:33 in the stream), he discussed how the event “may do something fun with the movie.”
“Yeah, I don’t know, we may do something fun with the movie that’s coming out next year,” he claimed. The teaser is the first time he mentions such news, possibly coming at The Game Awards 2019. “We’re still talking about that. Maybe we’ll do something fun around that. We love Sonic, so Sonic may make an appearance in some form inside of the show”.
The producer and host would be interested in celebrating Sonic‘s 30th anniversary more than offering a trailer of the movie. Still, the incoming release of the film is the right occasion to do so. A new game could also be part of the ten announcements anticipated for the event.
Sonic the Hedgehog movie is releasing on Feb. 14, 2020. It has undergone a redesign process because of the backlash caused among fans by the original look of Sonic, who had been crafted to look more ‘human-like’ in the first place. The latest design has been much more appreciated.
