Sorry, Spyro fans—you’re going to have to wait a little bit longer to get your hands on the remastered games.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy was due for release on Sept. 21, just five weeks from today. But late last night, developer Toys for Bob announced that the game would be delayed by almost two months, until Nov. 19.

“Everyone here at Toys for Bob is so proud to be reigniting the original Spyro trilogy after all these years.” an announcement on the Activision website reads. “We’re deeply committed to getting these games right, so we’ve decided to move the release date of Spyro Reignited Trilogy to November 13, 2018. I really hoped that you would be rescuing dragons and scorching Rhynocs sooner, but the Trilogy needs more love and care.  In November when you’re exploring the Dragon Realms, Avalar and the Forgotten Worlds, we know you’ll agree the extra time was worth the wait.”

The game is hotly anticipated by diehard fans of the original games, but it hasn’t been without controversy. A recent revelation that the second and third games would not be available to play without an online download angered some, who believed that an exclusively offline title shouldn’t require an online connection to play.

While plenty of the original game has been shown off, and more recently we’ve seen four or five levels of the sequel, the final game in the trilogy has yet to be seen in public. It will make its debut as a playable demo next week at Gamescom.

The delay is obviously a huge disappointment—but fans will be hoping that it means the final game is worth the wait.
