Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is gonna to offer fans a focused, singleplayer experience. And that is good news for all of us.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will have neither multiplayer nor microtransactions, according to a tweet by Respawn’s Blair Brown, who acts as Producer on the upcoming title.

There has been a lot of worry about what the game will be like. Despite lots of goodwill currently flowing Respawn’s way due to their smash hit Apex Legends, gamers still worried about the impact that EA might have on the game.

General discontent seems to exist over EA’s handling of the Star Wars license, and many people have wondered about the lack of Star Wars games in general compared to years past, but also the lack of singleplayer, narrative-driven experiences.

It seems we don’t need to worry about this with regard to Respawn’s upcoming title, however. While Star Wars: Battlefront seemed to appease fans who like shooters, it left a lot of the Star Wars fanbase out in the gold.

Often cruelly referred to as “Star Wars Battlefield” (by me, at least) the games often felt like they simply were not exploring the license in a meaningful way. Star Wars is a large and rich narrative universe, with huge potential for interesting and engaging singleplayer stories, so it is great to see one coming out.

I would also argue that Respawn hit Titanfall 2’s campaign out of the park, so there really is a lot of reason to feel positive about the game right now. If you are hungry for more news about the game, be sure to catch an upcoming panel where Vince Zampella and game director Stig Asmussen will be discussing the game later today. You can watch the panel at 1:30 PM CT/ 7:30 PM BST on Twitch.
