Stardew Valley’s multiplayer mode is coming along well, and the public may be able to play it in “about a month,” according to developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone.

The news comes from a tweet Barone posted today, in which he said development was “still making good progress on fixing bugs.” As long as things come together, Barone estimated that the mode “should be ready in about a month.”

If that ends up being the case, players can expect to try out Stardew Valley’s multiplayer mode on PC, Mac, and Linux first, then Nintendo Switch, then Xbox One and PlayStation 4, according to a follow-up tweet.

“Not exactly sure on the timetable for those,” Barone tweeted, referencing console development on the game’s multiplayer mode.

In mid-February, Barone announced Stardew Valley’s multiplayer public beta was planned for a “spring release” for PC. He later confirmed the game’s multiplayer mode was already undergoing quality assurance and bugs were being fixed “at a very good pace.” If development continues to go smoothly, that means Stardew Valley fans may have their hands on the multiplayer mode as soon as mid-May.

At least, that’s the case for PC fans. Stardew Valley players on console will still have to wait for their own multiplayer beta. In the meantime, publisher Chucklefish is busy developing Wargroove, which promises to revitalize the retro turn-based strategy genre as seen in games like Advance Wars.
