Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition, which was just announced today via Microsoft’s E3 2018 press briefing, has also been confirmed for a Nintendo Switch release.

The remastered version of the popular RPG will be making its way to the handheld system (in addition to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC) with upscaled screen resolution, new characters, events, and other content that previously had never been released outside of Japan. The additional content that never came west originally debuted on a PlayStation 3 version of the game that released in Japan, but never released in the U.S. Now you’ll be able to jump on all the extra with the new versions of the game.

The Switch version of the game is big news, especially for an RPG like Tales of Vesperia, as it’s an excellent title to be able to play a little of a time of and then put away for a while, which the Switch certainly facilitates.

Players will follow former Imperial Knight Yuri Lowell on his quest to retrieve a stolen Blastia Core that’s meant to regulate the water supply in his neighborhood. Things quickly spin out of control when Yuri meets a diverse cast of characters that push him into a quest to save the entire world.

This version of the game includes two new party members previously unavailable for North American players: young pirate Patty Fleur, and Yuri’s best friend and rival Flynn Scifo. The game will also include new scenarios, locations, and costumes that Western players have yet to see in previous iterations of the game.
