A lack of patch notes hasn’t stopped one Redditor from listing every change he could find to Teamfight Tactics on the PBE.
New changes have arrived for Teamfight Tactics on the PBE, and because Riot will not release patch notes until next week, one hard-working Redditor has listed all the changes he could find. There are some stand out changes coming to the latest patch, so huge thanks to Aquanort on Reddit for getting these all together.
How items drop has changed dramatically. There is a new Gromp encounter after the first minion fight, and players receive an item drop from the strongest monster in the pack following every PvE encounter after Gromp. Dragons now drop completed items, so the late game is about to get extremely spicy. The monsters that drop items have also been buffed, so you might lose a few more PvE encounters than you may expect.
Riot activated ranked play for the PBE with only five placement matches. It’s difficult to tell right now if the placement arrangement is going to stay this low when it goes live on the main game. ELO gain and loss depend on a player’s placement, with the top four players gaining ELO, and the bottom four players losing it. Aquanort talks a little about where they place, and how quickly they got promoted, but I wouldn’t worry about this right now as the PBE has a reasonably small player pool compared to the live build.
The demon characters have received buffs, which is great because I personally like them, but it feels like a self-imposed handicap to play them right now. They now deal 100%/200%/300% True Damage when they mana burn. This modification is a substantial change, and without feeding you free wins is probably going to make the Spatula an even higher value item.
Riot also made changes to Morellonomicon and Red Buff. They now do magical damage and physical damage, respectively, and burn 13% of a target’s max health over 5 seconds. It also prevents any healing.
Patch notes are expected to become a more regular thing followed next week, which is nice. I am loving Teamfight Tactics, and want to talk about all these changes in more detail, but it is hard to do so in a meaningful way with crowdsourced information. So, as soon as we get real patch notes, expect a much deeper dive into them and what the changes might mean to emergent metas and strategies within the game.
