The Initiative Hires Red Dead Redemption’s Lead Writer, God of War’s Producer, Tomb Raider’s Co-Director

The Initiative’s studio head Darrell Gallagher has shared, and then removed, a welcome post for several new staff members on his LinkedIn personal page. Luckily enough, ResetEra users were quick enough to save all the information and share them on the forums.

Interestingly, this rush of hires has brought to the newly born software house, among the others, God of War’s senior managing producer Brian Westergaard, Red Dead Redemption’s lead writer Christian Cantamessa and Tomb Raider’s co-director Daniel Neuburger.

This is the full list of the top talent that have just become part of the studio, as reported on ResetEra:

  • Brian Westergaard – Lead Producer/Senior Producer on ROTR and Senior Managing Producer on God of War
  • Christian Cantamessa – Leader Writer and Designer on Red Dead Redemption
  • Annie Lohr is a Senior Industry Recruiter and Daniel Neuburger worked as a co-director on the Tomb Raider Reboot and Rise of the Tomb Raider alongside Brian Horton.
  • Blake Fischer – Senior Director of Portfolio Planning for MS, He has been very helpful in getting a number of games to Xbox and has been credited for his assistance in games such as The Witcher 3, Lost Planet, Dead Rising, Ninja Gaiden , Rise of the Tomb Raider, Blinx, Tao Feng, Fall Out 3, Killer Instinct, Cuphead, Elder Scrolls IV…etc

We don’t know what The Initiative is working on yet, but it looks like the studio is indeed going to be busy on an action adventure title and all these new entries are apparently going to be great help from that perspective.
