Shadow of the Tomb Raider is supposed to be the end of the journey for young Lara Croft, but most probably it’s not the end of the story.
During a recent interview at PAX East, producer Jonathan Dahan told USGamer that he’d “be extremely surprised” if Tomb Raider doesn’t get new games in the future.
“I’d be extremely surprised if we didn’t see more of it,” Dahan said.
“We’re not able to say anything about what’s happening next, but I’d be very surprised if we didn’t hear more about the franchise.”
I’ve played Shadow of the Tomb Raider and, while it was a quite solid game under all the aspects, in my opinion, it showcased that not only the series but also the action adventure game in the vein of Uncharted needs to rest a bit and try to rebuild.
Anyway, it’s just fine that the character of Lara Croft can get more games involving her, and it’s even better it’s not happening soon, so more ideas could be brought in the lot.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s season pass is releasing its final DLC on April 23, and after that Eidos Montreal could be starting a new adventure.
