As Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 gets closer to release, Paradox Interactive seems to be turning up the speed on the news about the game. Just last week, we saw the reveal of the Tremere clan, and this week, it’s the Toreador’s turn in the spotlight.
Obsessed with beauty in all forms, there are those Toreador who would claim that their Clan only chooses the most accomplished artists of each generation – whether they wielded the brush, the pen, their voice, body or mind. It’d only be half a lie.
Toreador vampires use their supernatural charm to win mortals over to their side. In Vampire: The Masquerade lore, the Toreador clan has been active in Seattle from its very first days as a frontier settlement. Rather than ruling through sheer political power, they exert their will through art. Also known as the Clan of the Rose, the Toreador induct great artists into their rank to join the eternal pursuit of their highest goal: beauty.
But that doesn’t mean that the Toreador aren’t a force to be feared. They’re often vanguards of vampire society, and they use their popularity to get what they want.
Players can join the Toreador clan in Bloodlines 2 and get access to some of their powers.
Awe blinds nearby NPCs with the glamor of the Toreador vampire. Anyone nearby will stop and stare at the beautiful sight before them, and be unable to remember anything that happened for a short while after.
Entrance gives you even more control over your adoring fans. Using this ability will cause a group of people to follow you, keeping nearby enemies distracted.
You can use these skills in sight of mortals without breaking the Masquerade.
Unseen Storm will let you dash at incredible speed, evading attacks and knocking down anyone caught in your path.
Accelerate builds on your speed, allowing you to move so fast that the world around you seems frozen in place.
Using these seen in the presence of mortals will break the Masquerade, alerting them to the presence of a vampire.
