It’s no secret that I love me some simulator games, including real-world based ones like Euro Truck Simulator 2 and slightly more far-fetched ones like Elite: Dangerous. There’s something grown up, mature, and adult about immersing yourself in simulations like that. For me at least. Train Sim World has been on my radar for a while and Dovetail Games has just released some additional content for it in the form of Train Sim World: Northeast Corridor New York.

This addon requires ownership of Train Sim World and expands upon the available world content by adding several real-world inspired freight and passenger routes throughout the state of New York. Gamers from that area will no doubt recognize some of these new routes, as is often the case when simulators replicate their real-life counterparts.

Take command of passenger and freight services on the bustling Northeast Corridor, navigating sprawling yards and complex networks in cutting-edge Amtrak and CSX locomotives. The environment is recreated in loving detail, matched only by the visually stunning and mechanically precise trains that race through it, so hop on-board and join the action!

Authenticity is key as the sights and sounds of the railroad come alive in your home – so real you’ll swear you could reach out and touch the tracks. Dovetail Games’ proprietary SimuGraph® vehicle dynamics engine works with Unreal Engine 4® technology to ensure that Train Sim World®: Northeast Corridor New York gives you the real sensation of driving mighty machines.

Dovetail Games has taken steps to make becoming a virtual train operator easier for beginners. A new guided tutorial will show you the ropes of operating the Amtrak ACS-64 and CSX GP38-2 freight locomotive.

Owners of Train Sim World can pick up Northeast Corridor New York for $29.99 on Steam and new train simmers can grab a bundle of the core game and the new addon for $48.98. For more details on what’s in store for you, have a look at the official Train Sim World website.
