Mega Evolution returns to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon, giving players a chance to find and use every single Mega Stone that has ever existed.

Mega Evolution was a concept introduced in the sixth generation of Pokémon games, Pokémon X and Y, and gives a certain pool of Pokémon the ability to gain an ultimate form.

Players need to have a special Mega Stone in order to evolve a Pokémon into its final form, and trainers can only Mega Evolve one Pokémon per battle.

To get these Mega Stones, however, players will need to complete the main story in the game and make it to the Battle Tree—this game’s version of the Battle Tower.

The Battle Tower has existed in previous installments of the Pokémon series. It’s a facility that allows players to fight against multiple opponents, one after the other, while trying to make it to the top of the tower. The Battle Tree allows players to unlock end-game items, such as exclusive Pokémon moves, and it’s located at the other end of Poni Gauntlet on Poni Island.

Players can buy Mega Stones at the shop in the Battle Tree for 64 Battle Points each. Battle Points are the currency given to players who participate in the Battle Tree. The further a player goes, the more points they will get.

After getting enough Battle Points to buy a Mega Stone, all you need to do is equip it to your chosen Pokémon, and you can Mega Evolve it in battle.
