Sega has revealed new launch editions for the upcoming Valkyria Chronicles 4 as well as the release date for the hotly-anticipated entry in the tactical RPG series. This September, players can pick up a couple different versions of the game in the form of the Valkyria Chronicles 4 Launch Edition as well as the Memoirs from Battle Premium Edition.Â
All first-run physical copies of the game will come packaged as special Valkyria Chronicles 4 Launch Editions, with a controller skin featuring the adorable medic dog Ragnarok, depending on which platform you pick it up for, including the Switch’s Joy-Con controllers.Â
The Memoirs from Battle Premium Edition, however, will come with an exclusive artbook and a replica of protagonist Claude’s tank, the Hafen. It also comes with a copy of the game, just as it should, and DLC adventures featuring Squad 7 characters. The missions will feature three additional hours of gameplay with 4 exclusive story missions as well as six Squad 7 members to unlock as well as Edy’s msubmachine gun to use in the main game. The artbook features 100 pages of photos, notes, and other memories from throughout Claude’s journey and journal entries from Claude himself.Â
This entry in the series takes place in the same timeframe as the first Valkyria Chronicles title, but features a new cast of characters, including Commander Claude Wallace, weapons specialist Riley Miller, the hotheaded Darcsen Raz, sniper Kai Schulen, and plenty of other memorable characters. The “BLiTZ” turn-based third-person shooter-themed battle system also returns to the game with even more features than before.Â
Ready to march into war? Valkyria Chronicles 4 launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on Sep. 25, 2018.Â
