Sega’s Valkyria Chronicles series is headed back to home consoles this year, and in the latest Japanese trailer for Valkyria Chronicles 4, the developer showed off some of the new combat improvements headed to the game.

For one, the trailer depicts Valkyria Chronicles 4’s new mortar capability, which lets players shoot targets from high distances with explosive projectiles. Fallen soldiers can apparently get a another chance to fight if they’re knocked down, letting them recover and take a second shot at an enemy. The specifics behind this system are unclear for now, however.

The trailer also reveals the game’s improved graphics for explosions and terrain, along with sniping gameplay. The in-game map is bigger in the upcoming title as well, and combat will now feature dynamic weather, like heavy snowfall. A post from ResetEra suggests that Valkyria Chronicles 4 will feature soldier “side stories,” too, where each unlockable soldier from the game’s Squad E will have their own story arc alongside the game’s main plot. Check out the full trailer below for other features from the upcoming title.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 is headed to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One later this year in the U.S. The game will launch first in Japan on March 21 for PlayStation 4.
