Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is getting a slew of new characters in the coming months, with the most recent addition being Final Fantasy XII antagonist Vayne Carudas Solidor. He’s the first new Season Pass character being added, and you can see him in his evil glory below wiping the floor with the blood of his enemies. Yeah, he gets down like that.

Vayne comes packing alternate costumes, custom cosmetic skins for his weapons, and new scenes that give you a better look into his own plight during Dissidia Final Fantasy NT’s story mode. You can use his wild new abilities and chaotic play style to diversify your 3-on-3 team battles—or you can just play out your silly Final Fantasy fanfic battles. Whatever floats your boat. He’s yours to experiment with!

You can nab Vayne as part of the Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Season Pass, which also comes with five additional characters as well as two new skins and weapons. Alternatively, you can get him as a standalone purchase if you don’t want all the rest of the characters as well. There’s more to come, so eventually you can stage even more epic, knock-down, drag-out battles with your favorite Final Fantasy characters in the coming weeks. For now, you can get a decent start with Vayne’s debut in-game.

If you’ve never played through a Dissidia game, it may be a little different at first. You don’t really engage in combat like other third-person brawlers. It’s a little more complicated than that. Spending some time learning the intricate combos and moves will benefit you far more than button-mashing, especially if you want to incorporate your favorite Eidolons into the mix. Give it a try if you’re looking for something a little more strategic than your favorite 2D fighter.
