Final Fantasy VII Remake has once again been missing at the E3 2018 and, although it was quite a given considering that the team at Square Enix is fully focused on Kingdom Hearts III, that was disappointing to many.

Anyway, during an interview with The Verge, game director Tetsuya Nomura has provided few interesting and reassuring comments about the state of the development process on the much-anticipated game.

Why Final Fantasy VII Remake Was Missing From E3 2018

“We are developing [Final Fantasy VII] in parallel, and it’s not just in the early concept stages. We are actually in development,” he told The Verge, revealing that things are finally starting to ramp up on the title.

“So right now, it’s like I’ve been putting in 100 percent into Kingdom Hearts, 100 percent into Final Fantasy VII, 100 percent into Kingdom Hearts… just going back and forth,” he said. “It’s just like [working on] two titles is just going to be one [after Kingdom Hearts III’s launch]. That’s pretty much how I see it.”

As you might know, Kingdom Hearts III has finally received a release date a few hours before the Square Enix E3 2018 show, and it’s skipping this year to drop on January 29, 2019. Once it ships, there’ll be time for Final Fantasy VII Remake, we hope.
