Xbox Division Boss Phil Spencer has revealed that Xbox E3 2018 Media Briefing will be “closer to 100 minutes”. This clarification comes after it was reported that the Media Briefing is going to be over 2 hours long.
One of the hottest topics before the E3 media briefings finally kick off is how long they are going to be. While the platform owners haven’t revealed their cards yet, Phil Spencer has provided a first hint at how long the Xbox press conference will be.
According to Spencer, during the “last run-through” it was “closer to 100 minutes,” something more or less in line with the media briefings from the previous years.
As noted by users on ResetEra, the Xbox E3 2017 media briefing was 1:43:39, which is in line with the estimate provided by the head of Microsoft’s gaming. The Twitch schedule (listed as 45 minutes long) and the Xbox calendar page (listed as 2 hours) are both wrong, or at least placeholders.
It’s interesting to note that this format has kind of become a standard for E3 press conferences, although it’s not a meter of how good each media briefing will be, of course.
Should be closer to 100 minutes from our last run-through.

So we’ll still have to wait until this Sunday to see what Microsoft can come up with, especially after the reported delay of Crackdown 3 out of 2018. Forza Horizon 4, new Halo and Gears games are rumored to be coming, but we know Xbox needs something more to hype the fans.
