Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair has been confirmed to release on October 8 on PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair will be coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on October 8, according to a news post on publisher Team 17’s website.
The side-scrolling platformer will be bringing back heroes Yooka and Laylee for more adventures. The game will contain over 60 Tonics, special pickups that modify the gameplay. They can increase to the difficulty of enemies, make you super-fast, or give you the ability to roll infinitely, among other effects.
Pre-ordering Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair and you will get the exclusive ‘Trowzer’s Top Tonic Pack’ – a collection of four cosmetic Tonics including Large Head Tonic, Glow Worm Tonic, D.I.S.C.O. Tonic and Yooka 64!
The game is a sequel to 2017’s Yooka-Laylee, a 3D throwback to the N64 era developed by Playtonic Games. This new entry mixes things up by going the 2D platformer route. You will play that titular characters as you try to save members of Queen Phoebee’s court from the evil Capital B. Expect a whole lot of tricky platforming action to stand between you and victory.
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair will be available digitally on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC for £24.99 / $29.99 / €29.99. Physical editions will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at selected retailers globally.
