Crystalline City is one of the second zone levels that you can enter to progress. It has a very wintery aesthetic, with ice and snow covering the platforms, and a number of new enemies, including small but very annoying gargoyles and an ogre-like creature that throws rocks at you. There’s a number of awkward platforming moments, so you will need to be quick if you want to collect all of the umbral bees on the level. Here are the ten bees you can find on Crystalline City.
Bee #1
You will see a number of icy platforms above you at the start of the level. Jump up to the third platform and run into the middle part, which is slightly dipped compared to the edges. The bee will then appear to the right edge.
Bee #2
As you pass through the opening of the stage, you will get to a giant ramp that has fallen down towards you that you can walk up from. There are lots of gargoyles here, but you should also see a large ice slab that you can use your weapon on just before the ramp. You will hear a clunk sound to indicate that you’ve hit something. Hit it three times and a bee will release just above the large ramp to jump up to.
Bee #3
After reaching the end of the icy platforms and reaching the stone path, a bee will appear to the right. This bee will move very quickly to the right, and you need to be at full speed to catch up with it, even if the enemies are chasing behind you. Ignore them to grab it.
Bee #4
After going past the large building with a large number of pink gargoyles, you will come to another set of icy platforms with clouds that will block your path. At the entrance to this area, head upwards a couple of platforms and stand on the edge of this platform. It should trigger a bee above you. Be wary, as the cloud can trap you in here and hurt you.
Bee #5
From the previous bee, head right but stay at the top platforms to avoid exposing yourself to lots of enemies. You should see the ruins start to fall apart and just after where the platforms are cut should appear a bee ahead of you to collect.
Bee #6
Past the snowy area is a cave with a ladder that leads to an ogre on the current floor and the one above. Take them out, and then climb the ladder. Head right and the bee will then appear on the chamber above. You’ll need to avoid the guarding ogre, but you should be able to make it up to the bee.
Bee #7
You’ll reach a large room that requires you to take out a number of ogres and traverse on ladders to progress. A ladder in the middle part of the third tier that you will need to go down is when the bee will trigger. It will move to the right side, and you need to chase it. An ogre may come out of a cell and a bird fly in from the edge of the floor, so be wary while chasing.
Bee #8
On the second floor from the top of the same room, head to the right side, and as you get to the ladder furthest to the right, a bee will spawn on the top floor. Avoid the ogre on your floor and head up the ladder. You should be clear of enemies on the top floor while collecting the bee.
Bee #9
The next section sees floating steps that you need to platform across while avoiding the blue birds gunning for you. On the last step before the safe platform, a bee will spawn under your floating section. You have to nail the jump in line with the bee on the slope. If you miss this jump, you will miss the chance to bag the bee and will need to restart from the last checkpoint to attempt it again.
Bee #10
After the cutscene with the dragon, you will encounter a stone golem on a tier above you, with another platform further up. Head to the right on the ground floor and you will trigger the bee above you. You need to climb the ladders to reach the bee, doing your best to avoid the golem.
