Kyurem is a legendary Pokémon available in Pokémon Go, and you will only be able to capture it after participating and completing a five-star raid. It’s only available at five-star raids for a limited time, too, so you won’t have a huge window to attempt to capture it. You certainly want to take a team with you to battle it, likely leaning towards the range of at least five trainers, no less than three. If you go after it with only three trainers, everyone had better be the highest levels and capable of hitting its weaknesses. When you do capture it, it’s time to focus on obtaining one with the best moves.
It’s a Dragon and Ice-type Pokémon, making it weak to other Dragons, Fairy, Fighting, Rock, and Steel-type attacks. Regardless of its weaknesses, it’s still a legendary Pokémon and is capable of reaching a max CP of 3,575, an attack of 246, a defense of 170, and stamina of 245. You want to use it against other Dragon-types, Flying, Ground, and Grass-types. You might have to be extremely specific when pairing Kyurem because it can easily be countered by a well-placed Fighting, Rock, or Steel-type in PvP, but you should do fine using it during raids.
When it comes to movesets, this is everything Kyurem can learn:
- Dragon breath
- Steel Wing
- Draco Meteor
- Dragon Claw
- Icy Wind
Of the choices, you primarily want to lean into Kyurem’s bread and butter moves, which means having it know dragon breath for its fast move. You want to pair that with draco meteor and blizzard. Alternatively, steel wing is not a bad move to also pair with these two, but it won’t receive the stat type attack bonus it does from Dragon and Ice-type moves. The only negative move it can learn is icy wind. Stick with draco meteor and blizzard for its charge moves, and you should do fine in any battle with any choice of fast moves.
