When Borderlands 3 first came up, people went crazy to hear about the infamous looter-shooter returning with a brand new title. There was so fan backlash, as well. Not everything went well because Gearbox Software announced Borderlands 3 was going to first come to the Epic Games Store for the PC, before every other format. Steam fans went up in arms about the ordeal. However, they’re still eagerly awaiting to hear when they can play it.

When Does Borderlands 3 Come to Steam?

2K Games and Gearbox Software have a strict contract with the Epic Games Store to not sell Borderlands 3 on any other format on the PC for six months. Doing a quick bit of math, players can expect to see the game coming to Steam sometime after April 13, 2020. You can’t grab the game from any other digital storefront for a PC beyond that date.

Unfortunately, 2K Games and Gearbox Software have not explicitly stated that they’re going to bring the game to steam once the exclusivity agreement ends. However, given the popularity and the fan’s outcry to do so, it’s difficult to imagine them not doing so and bringing it over to Steam.

We’re going to learn more as we near April 13, 2020, date and 2K games opens up more about the subject. For now, they’re going to ride the wave of enthusiasm for the game with its release. For now, if you’re waiting for the game to come to Steam, then you’re going to need to wait for it using other release titles until it comes out.
